Gabriel Martinelli set for Arsenal as agent admits talks
Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli looks set to move to England as a transfer to Premier League giants Arsenal looks increasingly likely. This weekend the agent of the 17-year-old versatile attacker admitted that talks with the North London club are ongoing.
The Ituano forward is valued by his club at around £7 million and it is understood Arsenal have finally agreed to the terms laid down by Martinelli's parent club.
The striker had originally met with representatives of Arsenal in Brazil just last week to discuss possible moves to England and it is understood all parties left that meeting impressed with what the Gunners had to offer.
Unai Emery has been busy preparing for the summer transfer window and Martinelli could be the player that kicks off those plans. Emery is expected to have a budget of around £40 million this summer.
Martinelli's agent, Marcos Casseb, told reporters: "We expect this move to happen. The plan is for Gabriel to go straight to Europe and he will play for his dream club."
