Arsenal in talks to sign Serie A midfielder?
Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout has emerged as the prime transfer target for Arsenal as they seek to replace Aaron Ramsey in their ranks during the summer.
Ramsey is set to join Juventus on a Bosman when his Gunners contract expires in the summer and this has encouraged the need for a new signing ahead of next season.
According to Calciomercato, the Gunners are said to have opened a dialogue the agent of Veretout as they seek to prise away the midfielder from La Viola at the end of the season.
Veretout has prior Premier League experience with Aston Villa between 2015 and 2016, but the move turned into a nightmare as the Villains were relegated from the Premier League without any fight.
Since then, the Frenchman has managed to transform his fortunes with Saint-Etienne on loan before joining La Viola on a permanent deal and it appears that he could seal a comeback to the Premier League this summer.
Veretout's agent is deemed to have held a meeting with the Gunners' board regarding a summer move last week, but the midfielder won't come on the cheap with Fiorentina set to demand as much as £21.62m.
