Manchester United make transfer decision on Philippe Coutinho?

United won't pay big to sign Coutinho this summer

Manchester United are reportedly reluctant to pay more than £61m to pursue the signature of former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in the summer.

The Brazil international is currently in the ranks of Barcelona after joining them from the Reds 14 months ago, but his future remains uncertain with his inconsistent form in the Spanish top-flight.

According to Don Balon, the Blaugrana could be prepared to entertain the sale of Coutinho in the summer with both United and Paris Saint-Germain vying to acquire his signature.

However, the former are not keen on paying more than £61m for Coutinho, which is apparently less than half the sum the Blaugrana paid to lure him from Anfield.

Chelsea are also said to be in the running to sign the Brazil international as they aim to secure a replacement for Eden Hazard, who has been heavily touted to join Real Madrid.

Coutinho has experienced a difficult league campaign with Barcelona where he has managed just 19 starts from 31 appearances. He has contributed just five goals and two assists in the process.
