Darmian set for United exit

Manchester United have reportedly decided to part ways with out-of-favour defender Matteo Darmian during this summer's transfer window.

The Italian has barely featured for the Red Devils in the past three months with his only outing coming against Manchester City in the derby defeat.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are set to end their association with the versatile defender in the summer and they are prepared to accept of around £8.6m for the same.

In the past, the club have demanded around £20m which has put suitors from making an approach, but the reduced asking price is likely to attract bids during the summer.

Inter Milan are currently said to be favourites to acquire the signature of the former Torino man, but they could face competition from Napoli and AS Roma, should the duo retain their long-term interest.

Darmian has 14 months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils, but the club have the option of extending his contract by a further year, if they wish to do so.
