Liverpool favourites to complete signing of Bundesliga winger

Liverpool are reportedly still leading the race to sign winger Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the campaign.

The German is said to have a release clause of around £21.61m in his current contract but he has recently indicated that he would prefer to remain with Leverkusen beyond the summer.

However, this has not ceased the speculation regarding his future and according to The Mirror, the Reds are still said to be keen on signing the attacker ahead of the likes of Borussia Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen are currently occupying the fourth position heading into the final gameweek of their Bundesliga campaign and reports indicate that Brandt's sale may be dependent on whether the club make the Champions League or not.

The Germany international has contributed six goals and a further 11 assists from 32 league appearances this term. He has two years remaining on his current deal with the club.
