De Gea to Paris Saint-Germain?

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are deemed to have made a formal approach to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea ahead of the summer.

The Spain international has been in a contract standoff with United over the past year and this has largely come about from the hierarchy being reluctant to match his £350,000-a-week wage demands.

As such, it has been suggested that he could head through the exit door when he enters the final year of his contract this summer and Les Parisiens are said to have already made an approach.

Speaking to Canal +, French journalist Geoffroy Garetier has revealed that Les Parisiens are keen on recruiting a world-class shot-stopper and they have made a formal approach to pursue De Gea.

"Paris Saint-Germain are seeking a world-class goalkeeper now more than ever. The club have made an offer for David De Gea," he told the publication.

De Gea has just 13 months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils and so far, there has been no indication from the club's end that he will extend his stay beyond next season.
