Arsenal striker responds to Barcelona transfer speculation
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has refused to dismiss the prospect of joining Barcelona when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.
The Frenchman has enjoyed a fruitful second campaign with the Gunners and this has already seen him named as the club's Player of the Year.
A recent report from AS suggested that Lacazette could emerge as a target for Barcelona, should they fail to sign Antoine Griezmann, and when asked about the same, Lacazette told Telefoot: "It’s flattering."
Lacazette has contributed 19 goals and 10 assists during the ongoing campaign and his tally remains only behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has bagged 31 goals and seven assists.
As such, it would come as a surprise if the Gunners even consider the prospect of sanctioining his sale, and a report from The Mail has suggested that talks are being planned with the front duo regarding new contracts.
Arsenal end their campaign with a Europa League final against Chelsea in Baku at the end of the month and they must overcome the hurdle in order to return to next season's Champions League.
