United keen on signing Magpies ace

Manchester United are reportedly planning an opening bid worth £20m to secure the signature of Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United this summer.

The 21-year-old only made his first-team debut for the Magpies in December 2018 but he has since made a strong impression on a number of top Premier League sides.

According to Press Association Sport, the Red Devils are said to hold a keen interest in signing young English talent and Longstaff is one of the players they have been impressed with.

The same report suggests that the club are prepared to make an offer of around £20m for the midfielder and they are hoping to convince the Magpies into a sale.

United are also in the running to sign Daniel James from Swansea City in a £15m deal but sources suggest that he could be loaned back to the Championship outfit for the 2019/2020 season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently evaluating the futures of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez among others and part of their summer business could be funded from player sales.
