Manchester United make opening bid for Ligue 1 striker?
Manchester United are reported to have lodged an opening bid of more than £35m to acquire the services of Moussa Dembele from Lyon.
The 22-year-old joined Les Gones from Celtic at the beginning of last season and he has since been a good hit for the club with 20 goals across all competitions.
According to Goal.com, the Red Devils have now made a formal offer in excess of £35m for the marksman, who has previously spent time with Championship side Fulham.
Les Gones are yet to respond to the transfer approach but the potential arrival of Dembele could signal the end of Romelu Lukaku's career at the Mancunian giants.
The Belgium international bagged just 15 goals during the course of the previous campaign and reports indicate that he could be headed to the Serie A with Inter Milan among the contenders to sign him.
Aside from a striker, United are also keen on pursuing a right-sided winger, right-back and a central defender, and it remains to be seen whether they can fulfil their objectives this summer.
