Man City in for Joao Felix

Manchester City have reportedly jumped ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign in-demand forward Joao Felix from Benfica.

The teenager had a sublime 2018/19 campaign with Benfica and he ended the season by contributing a total of 26 goals across all competitions.

As such, he has attracted high-profile interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Manchester United but TVI 24 claims that the Citizens have joined the player's pursuit.

The same outlet claims that Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the 19-year-old, although he is aware that the Portuguese won't come on the cheap this summer.

The Citizens currently have plenty of options for the attacking positions but they are claims that Leroy Sane could head through the exit door amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Benfica are currently in discussions with Felix regarding a new long-term contract as they seek to increase the £106m release clause on his present deal with the side.
