West Ham United close to completing first summer signing?
West Ham United are reportedly making progress in the race to sign midfielder Kostas Fortounis from Olympiacos this summer.
The 26-year-old has recently experienced a standout season with Olympiacos where he has contributed 17 goals and 16 assists and this appears to have caught the attention of the Hammers.
According to The Sun, the east London outfit have opened up discussions over a £16m deal for the Greek attacker, whose Olympiacos contract expires in the summer of 2020.
West Ham only managed a 10th-place finish despite the spending spree last summer but the board are still expected to back the head coach with additional transfer funds.
Aside from Fortounis, the club have also been linked with the services of Barcelona's Andre Gomes, who is expected to pursue a permanent move away from the Camp Nou this summer.
Gomes spent the previous season on a temporary basis with Everton and made 27 appearances in the Premier League. He is also said to attract interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan.
