Manchester United eager to speed up discussions for Portuguese midfielder
Manchester United have reportedly decided to speed up negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for Bruno Fernandes amid interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old has come off a top campaign for Sporting in the Primeira Liga where he contributed directly to 33 goals and this has caught the attention of elite European sides.
According to A Bola, United are aware of the interest from the likes of Spurs and they are keen to beat them by making an early approach for the playmaker's services.
The same publication claims that a meeting has been scheduled with Sporting and the player's agent this week where a deal worth £70m is likely to be discussed.
Fernandes, who has previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, is currently with the Portuguese national side for the Nations League finals.
Aside from Fernandes, United have also been linked with moves for compatriots Ruben Dias and Joao Felix and it remains to be seen whether they can pull through deals for each of them.
