Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing defender Max Aarons from Norwich City during the ongoing transfer window.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on pursuing a new right-sided defender this summer and the club have been strongly linked with Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka in recent weeks.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Aarons has now emerged as another possible candidate to bolster the right-back spot, considering the Red Devils are far off from agreeing a deal for Wan-Bissaka.

The same publication claims that the Red Devils may not have an easy route towards signing Aarons, given the Canaries are in no rush to part ways with the highly-rated defender.

Aarons, who penned a new long-term deal with the Canaries last year, has also been on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, but the north London side are yet to make a formal approach for his services.

United had regularly utilised the services of Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot at right-back during the previous campaign, but they are doubts concerning the former as he enters the final phase of his professional career.
