Liverpool open the door to sign Barcelona star
Liverpool are reportedly open to the prospect of re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona as they seek to make another push for the Premier League title next season.
The Reds went head-to-head with Manchester City for the English crown last term but ultimately, they fell short with the Citizens winning the title by the single point.
According to Le 10 Sport, the Reds are likely to make a marquee signing during the ongoing transfer window and they could welcome the idea of re-signing Coutinho from the Blaugrana.
In recent weeks, Paris Saint-Germain have been regularly linked with the player's services but the Reds are prepared to offer a second chance to the playmaker, who has struggled to impress at the Camp Nou.
Coutinho joined the Blaugrana in a club-record £142m deal at the start of 2018, but he has failed to win over the supporters due to his average showing in the Spanish La Liga.
Liverpool owner John W Henry has recently said that the Reds have plenty to spend in the transfer market and the Blaugrana could demand the initial £108m fee paid for the playmaker last year to sanction his sale.
