Tottenham close to agreement for Tanguy Ndombele

Ndombele set for Spurs switch

Tottenham look set to start their transfer business with a mega-money move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The highly rated youngster set Ligue 1 alight last year and has been monitored by numerous Premier League scouts over the past 18 months.

It appears that Mauricio Pochettino will finally be allowed to open his cheque book to sign new players, with the acquistion of Ndombele being the first major coup in over a year for Tottenham.

Tottenham will pay an enormous £55 million up front plus a further £10 million in add-ons to sign the 22-year-old from Lyon.

Controversial Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas informed Spurs last week that he wanted to keep the player, but it appears as if an agreement has now been reached and Ndombele can travel to Tottenham to discuss personal terms.

A move to sign Ndombele will smash Spurs' transfer record, by over £20 million. The player is expected to sign a five-year contract at White Hart Lane and is seen as a replacement for the likes of Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko at the club.
