Manchester United make £70m bid to sign England defender
Manchester United have reportedly made a bid of £70m to secure the services of Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer.
The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new central defender and they have been linked with Maguire on numerous occasions in the past year.
According to BBC Sport, the Red Devils have lodged an offer of around £70m in an attempt to pursue the 26-year-old from the Foxes during the current transfer window.
However, that package may not be sufficient to convince the Foxes, who are said to be eyeing at least £90m in transfer fees for the former Sheffield United graduate.
Maguire, who signed a fresh five-year deal with the Foxes last year, has previously expressed his ambition of playing for an elite club offering Champions League football.
United won't be able to offer the same for the forthcoming campaign but they are aiming to lure him with their ambitious project where the focus has lied on pursuing young British talents to date.
