Manchester City re-sign Angelino
Manchester City re-sign Angelino
Man City have agreed a deal that sees the return of full-back Angelino to the club from PSV Eindhoven. The Cityzens have taken up their first option to re-sign the player from the Dutch club following a previous stint at the Etihad Stadium from 2014.
Pep Guardiola has been impressed with the performances of Angelino in the Eredivisie since his departure from City and has elected to bring the starlet back to the Premier League next season.
Angelino played in all 34 for PSV Eindhoven's domestic Eredivisie season, with the defender scoring a goal and returning 9 assists. The player will return to City on a four year deal in a transfer package believed to be worth around 8.25 million in total.
The deal comes at a time when there is uncertainty over the long-term future of Fabian Delph, who could be leaving Man City this summer for a shock return to his former club Aston Villa.
Angelino quipped post-transfer: "I am thrilled to have rejoined City, a side playing incredible football under Pep Guardiola.’
‘Watching them while playing in Holland has been a pleasure.’
‘City’s performances over the last two seasons have been incredible and I am very excited about returning and contributing to the Club’s bid for more success.’
