Barcelona make contact with Arsenal regarding Brazilian winger
Arsenal have reportedly been offered the opportunity to secure the services of Barcelona winger Malcom after failing in their recent attempt to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
The north London giants had recently lodged a £40m bid for the services of Zaha but the offer was swiftly declined by the Eagles, who have been infuriated by the derisory offer for their prized asset.
According to The Mirror, Barcelona have now offered the Gunners with the chance to pursue Malcom, who was linked with an Emirates move during his time at Bordeaux.
The same publication claims that the Blaugrana may prefer a straight-cash deal for the attacker this summer, considering they are aiming to recoup funds for the purchases of Antoine Griezmann and Neymar.
Malcom made the switch to the Camp Nou for £37m last summer but he was restricted to just six starts in the Spanish La Liga amid the vast competition for places.
So far, the Gunners remain intent on landing the services of Zaha from the Eagles and it remains to be seen whether they would be tempted to return for Malcom at a later stage, should they fail to pursue the Ivorian.
