Frenkie De Jong passes Barcelona medical
Barcelona have announced that Dutch starlet Frenkie De Jong has passed his club medical ahead of a transfer move to the Nou Camp. The impressive Ajax midfielder has opted to move to Spain as opposed to the Premier League in a deal that will be worth up to 100 million euros.
De Jong returned three goals and three assists last season as he helped Ajax Amsterdam to the Eredivisie title. The club agreed to let the talented youngster leave the side for Barcelona in May, and today the player has finally passed a medical.
"It will be special to experience it," De Jong told Dutch publication AD ahead of his presentation at Camp Nou.
"I've seen players presentations from big clubs like Barcelona on television and now I will be a part of it myself. I have no idea what to expect, but that's not bothering me that much.
"I just let it happen and try to enjoy it as much as possible. I'm not stressing out about it and won't change my behaviour.
"Also in Barcelona, I will be the same Frenkie. On the pitch and as a person."
