Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Romelu Lukaku had missed the opening pre-season friendly against Perth Glory with a knock and he should return for the next outing with the club.

The Belgian's future has been the subject of speculation in the past weeks with Inter Milan in regular discussions regarding his potential transfer away from Old Trafford.

However, speaking after the 2-0 win over Perth, Solskjaer stated that the marksman had only missed the friendly due to a minor fitness concern and he should be deemed fit for the Leeds clash.

"There's been so many speculations but, yes, he should be fit for Wednesday (against Leeds). He trained with the team yesterday, but it wasn't useful today to risk him, to be fair," he told The Guardian.

At present, Inter are understood to be £12m short of United's £75m price tag for the Belgian and they are yet to make a renewed approach for the former Everton man.

There has been the talk of the Nerazzurri paying a loan fee for a couple of seasons before securing a permanent deal, but United seem disinterested in such kind of a move.
