Manchester United to land third summer signing next week
Manchester United are reportedly in advanced discussions with Sporting regarding Bruno Fernandes and they could secure his signature by next week.
The Mancunian giants have been strongly linked with the 24-year-old in the past few weeks and reports have suggested that they have the edge over Tottenham Hotspur due to the player's preference to join them.
According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the Red Devils are said to have made a formal approach for the services of Fernandes following discussions with the midfielder's representative.
He added that Sporting are eager to find a resolution over the midfielder's future and they are likely to sanction his sale to the Red Devils before the end of the next week.
Fernandes, who contributed 32 goals and 18 assists for Sporting last term, is alleged to have already agreed on a five-year contract worth £100,000 a week with the Red Devils.
Sporting have previously placed a £63m price tag on the midfielder's head, but they are likely to lower their valuation and settle for something around £50m.
Manchester United have so far recruited Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Swansea City and Crystal Palace respectively this summer.
