German attacker set to rejoin Tottenham Hotspur
German attacker Timo Werner is set to rejoin Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The former Chelsea man signed for Spurs on a temporary basis in January and he was a regular starter during the back end of the season.
Spurs had the option to buy him for €16m this summer, but they have instead renewed his stay on another temporary contract.
As part of the agreement, the north London giants will have the option to sign him on a permanent basis for the same amount (€16m).
Spurs finished a disappointing fifth in the Premier League last season. They ended up just two points behind Aston Villa in the table.
Their form was particularly poor in the month of May and manager Ange Postecoglou will want better consistency next term.
A marquee striker could be signed this summer to provide the club with the assurance of more goals over the course of the season.
