Chelsea are prepared to reward Brazilian winger Willian with a fresh two-year contract extension.

The Blues have recently been lenient with their policy of handing 12-month deals to players over the age of 30, and this has already seen David Luiz sign a two-year contract with the club.

According to The Times, the trend is likely to continue with Willian, who has been in a contract standoff over the past year due to the demand for a multi-year contract.

The Brazilian's current deal with the Blues expires at the end of the upcoming campaign but reports indicate that the club are now prepared to reward him with another two years.

Willian, who has made close to 300 appearances for the Blues, did not enjoy the best of seasons last term, but he should remain a regular for the first-team duties, considering the club are under a year-long transfer ban.

Willian has played no part in the club's pre-season campaign to date and that has resulted from the fact that he picked up a hamstring injury during the recent Copa America tournament.
