Manchester United boss says Harry Maguire could feature against Chelsea
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has acknowledged that Harry Maguire is on the cusp of signing for the club and he could feature in the Premier League opener against Chelsea.
The England international has already arrived at the Red Devils' Carrington base for the medical tests and a £85m deal is expected to be announced in the next 24 hours.
In a report covered by the club's official website, Solskjaer confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Leicester City for the transfer of the defender and he could make his debut against the Blues on August 11.
"Let's get the details over the line but yeah, [he could be in contention for Chelsea game]. He has played a few games in pre-season, we will have to assess him if and when," he said.
Maguire will become the Red Devils' third signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Swansea City and Crystal Palace respectively.
