Sanchez to stay at Old Trafford

Manchester United have reportedly 'resigned' to the fact that Alexis Sanchez will remain with the club until the turn of the year at the least.

The Chilean has struggled to make an impact since joining the Red Devils from Arsenal last year and he managed to contribute just one league goal during the previous season.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the former Barcelona star has recently returned to the Red Devils setup following his vacation for his Copa America exploits in Brazil.

It is added that he is unlikely to be offloaded to an overseas club this month, considering the Red Devils find themselves short of striking options after the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

The Mancunian giants begin their Premier League campaign with a home game against Chelsea this weekend, but Sanchez is not expected to feature as he is still short of fitness after missing the club's pre-season tour.

One of Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial could be offered with the central forward role against the Blues, while young graduate Mason Greenwood may come off the bench to influence the proceedings.
