Chelsea receive double injury boost ahead of Super Cup clash
Chelsea have received a much-needed injury boost with both Antonio Rudiger and Willian in contention for the European Super Cup clash against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The duo missed the Premier League opener against Manchester United after just returning to training following their respective injuries, but they are expected to at least make the bench for the midweek clash.
In a report covered by Metro, it is revealed that both Willian and Rudiger could play cameo roles off the bench, should Lampard decide to utilise their services.
However, the west London giants have a concern with N'Golo Kante, who has suffered another slight injury during his substitute appearance against the Red Devils last weekend.
Chelsea have not won the Super Cup since 1998 and they have been on the losing side in the 2012 and 2013 editions to Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively.
They are facing the Reds on the back of an embarrassing 4-0 loss at Old Trafford but manager Frank Lampard has said that the team will respond strongly.
