David de Gea makes Manchester United contract decision?

De Gea will decide his United future in January

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly prepared to wait until the turn of the year before deciding whether to pen a new contract at the club.

The Spain international has less than 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils but so far, he has shown no indication of signing a contract renewal.

According to The Sun, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that the goalkeeper will soon sign an extension after handing him with the captain's armband following the departure of Antonio Valencia.

However, De Gea is reluctant to assess his future until the New Year at the least, given the club's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League will see him take a 25 percent pay-cut alongside his teammates.

Paris Saint-Germain have been touted to land De Gea's signature since the summer and reports suggest that they would offer him with a significant signing-on fee on top of increased wages, if he is available for free next summer.
