Mandzukic to United in January?

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic could reportedly make the move to Manchester United when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The Croatian was fancied to replace Romelu Lukaku prior to the Premier League transfer deadline this month but a deal failed to materialise.

United have since had to rely on Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford for the striking duties with the young Mason Greenwood providing back-up, but they are likely to consider a stop-gap option at the turn of the year.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, the Red Devils are likely to recruit a new centre-forward in January after sanctioning the loan deal for Alexis Sanchez, who has linked up with Inter Milan.

The same publication claims that Mandzukic would be open to a winter transfer to Old Trafford after turning down advances from Paris Saint-Germain recently.

United do have the option of pursuing Fernando Llorente on a free transfer but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not believe the Spaniard would fit into the club's style of play.
