Bielik: unwanted at Arsenal

Derby County defender Krystian Bielik has sensationally revealed that he turned down a transfer to Serie A giants AC Milan in favour of a move to join the Championship side. The Rams paid a £12 million transfer fee to sign the versatile young player.

Bielik was an important part of Poland's squad during this past summer's under-21 tournament and many suggested that Arsenal would give the player an opportunity in the club's first team this season.

With the Gunners defence still leaking goals, many are questioning why Unai Emery opted to sell the young player.

"I was hoping that I would get a chance under (Arsenal boss) Unai Emery but it turned out that he couldn't see me in his plans," said Bielik.

"At the Euros, I wanted to show myself well and hoped that I was watched by the club and I could do a lot with good performances. Then, before the Championships, Milan's offer appeared, but ultimately nothing came of it. I don't want to say it's a shame now. I love Arsenal and playing for this club was my dream. However, it was necessary to stray from this path. I came to the club from the Championship, where I will play and gain experience."
