Solskjaer drops fitness update after West Ham game

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped a fitness update on three players ahead of the forthcoming League Cup third round tie against Rochdale at Old Trafford.

In a press conference covered by MUTV, Solskjaer confirmed that Marcus Rashford has indeed picked up a groin problem and that will certainly rule him out of the forthcoming games.

However, he added that the likes of Anthony Martial (thigh injury) and Mason Greenwood (tonsillitis) could make a comeback and one of them could feature in the Cup tie in midweek.

“He felt his groin. We’ll do a scan tomorrow to see how badly he’s injured. I don’t know how long he’ll be out, I’m not a doctor. But he’ll probably be out for a little while. Hopefully Mason and Anthony will be back for the Arsenal game and at least one of them for Rochdale," he told.

The Red Devils have endured a below-par beginning to the league campaign and they are currently languishing in the eighth spot with just eight points from the opening five matches.

Solskjaer is bound to make multiple changes to the team for the clash against Rochdale and he will be hoping that there are no further injury concerns ahead of the crunch league game against Arsenal next Monday.
