Manchester United interested in Neymar?

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has reportedly been identified as a potential transfer target for Manchester United.

Neymar had been desperate to seal a return to Barcelona from Les Parisiens last summer but a deal did not materialise with the Spanish champions reluctant to discuss a straight-cash deal of around £230m.

The Brazilian has since been successfully reintegrated into the starting XI at the Ligue 1 holders but there remains the speculation regarding his long-term future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are unlikely to return for Neymar until the end of the season but they could face stiff competition from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The Red Devils decided to part ways with both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (on loan) during the recent transfer window and they appear keen on adding a star figure in the forward ranks.

A mid-season move appears unlikely with clubs generally reluctant to sell and the club's hierarchy seem content to wait until the end of the season before making a surprise approach for Neymar.

United have struggled for form during the opening weeks of the league campaign and they are presently occupying only the 10th spot on the table with nine points on the board.
