Frank Lampard speaks on Christian Pulisic's performance vs Newcastle

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has praised the impact from Christian Pulisic during the club's 1-0 league triumph over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The United States international has experienced a difficult start to his Premier League career and he has been restricted to just two substitute appearances since the end of August.

One of those came against Newcastle on Saturday where he impressed with his direct running and workrate, and nearly found the breakthrough after the hour mark.

Speaking after the game, Lampard was pleased with the showing of the former Borussia Dortmund man and said that there is plenty more to come from the forward.

"I’m really pleased for him. He’s a hot topic because of the price tag. The long term is that he’s come here and he’s just turned 21 and to see him play like he did today, and there’s a lot more to come," he told in a press conference.

Chelsea have temporarily jumped to the fourth position in the standings. They are scheduled to face Ajax on the road during their midweek encounter in the Champions League.
