Manchester United end interest in Juventus star?

Mario Mandzukic news

Mandzukic won't join United in January

Manchester United have reportedly ended their interest in signing Mario Mandzukic from Juventus during the winter transfer window.

The 33-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since the summer and reports have recently emerged that he could make the mid-season move to the club.

However, according to ESPN, that does not appear the case and the Mancunian giants have decided to cool their pursuit of the former Bayern Munich striker.

Mandzukic is said to have demanded a three-year deal with improved wages to join the Red Devils and that has put off the club's board, given they regard the marksman as nothing more than a stop-gap option.

The experienced forward has failed to make a single appearance in the Juventus colours this term and he has likewise been dropped from the Champions League squad for the group phase.

He had the option to head to Qatar during the end of September but he rejected the approach in order to continue his career with another elite European club.
