Manchester United to swoop for Timo Werner?
Manchester United are reportedly looking into a move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The 23-year-old was hotly tipped to join Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window but he eventually penned a new long-term deal with Leipzig.
Since then, he has been in sublime form for the Bundesliga outfit and he recently bagged three goals and three assists in the 8-0 rout of Mainz in the German top-flight.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils could get the marksman on the cheap in the New Year, given he has a relatively low £27m release clause inserted into his deal.
It is added that Liverpool are also in contention for the Germany international but the Red Devils could have the edge as they would be able to guarantee Werner with a starting role.
Manchester United's woes continued during the recent gameweek as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on the road. They are presently 10th in the standings with a 10-point gap to the top four.
