Chelsea winger hints at new long-term contract with the club
Chelsea winger Willian has hinted that he could be on the cusp of signing a new contract with the west London side.
The Brazil international has been ever-present under Frank Lampard since September and he has contributed three goals and four assists in all competitions.
Willian recently revealed that he has no clue with regards to his future with the club but he has now stated that his representative has opened negotiations with the Capital outfit.
"I have stated several times my wish is to stay at Chelsea. However, I'm in the middle of the season and I try not to think about it so as not to lose focus on the field. My agent and the club are talking and I hope we can have some good news soon," he told Yahoo! Sport.
The 31-year-old's current deal with the Europa League holders expires in the summer of 2020 and he is said to be eyeing a two-year contract with a reasonable wage hike.
Willian has failed to start just one of the previous 12 Premier League matches for the Blues. He is expected to feature on the right wing when the club take on Bournemouth on Saturday.
