Liverpool to sign Salzburg star?
Liverpool are reportedly set to sign Red Bull Salzburg star Takumi Minamino in the January transfer window.
According to Mirror, Liverpool are the favourites to sign Salzburg attacker Minamino, who has impressed against them in the Champions League.
The Reds are said to have beaten top European clubs including Manchester United in the transfer race for the talented Japanese star, whose buy-out clause turns out to be £7.75m.
The Merseyside club made hardly any new transfers in the previous window and the German boss Jurgen Klopp seems keen on adding reinforcements in January.
Minamino, 24, has been one of the key players for Salzburg, racking up 5 goals and 5 assists in Austrian Bundesliga so far this season.
The versatile attacker was also impressive in the UCL group stage, scoring 2 goals and providing three assists including a remarkable display against the Reds at Anfield.
The current attacking line-up of the Reds consists of Salah, Mane, Firmino and Origi. Minamino’s addition would hand Klopp the much-needed depth in the frontline.
Klopp’s men are currently topping the Premier league table without a single defeat in 16 games they have played so far. Furthermore, they qualified for the UCL knockout stages after defeating Salzburg on Tuesday.
