Leicester City favourites to sign leading Championship forward

Leicester City reportedly hold the advantage over Newcastle United and Southampton in the race to sign Jarrod Bowen from Championship side Hull City.

Bowen has been exceptional for the Tigers since their relegation from the Premier League and in the current season, he has bagged 15 goals and four assists from just 23 league appearances.

Despite this, the Tigers continue to remain in mid-table and The Mirror claims that they could find it difficult to keep hold of their forward beyond the winter transfer window.

Bowen's current deal is scheduled to expire at the end of the campaign but Hull have the option of triggering a 12-month extension clause to keep him at the club until June 2021.

Still, it is claimed that he could be available for a cheaper price of around £10m next month and Brendan Rodgers' side are leading the hunt to land his services.

Bowen is capable of playing in a number of attacking options but he has found most of his success operating from the right wing for Grant McCann's side this season.
