Mesut Ozil to meet Fenerbahce in January

Mesut Ozil news

Ozil set for Arsenal departure?

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is meeting with Turkish giants Fenerbahce in January to discuss a transfer window move. Former German international midfielder Ozil, who has fallen out of favour several times at the Emirates over the past 18 months, is looking for a move away from North London.

It is understood that Arsenal will even let Ozil leave the club on a free transfer, as long as the midfielder's next destination will cover the entire wage bill of the German star.

Ozil has shown flashes of brilliance when called upon, but in recent weeks the player has seen his form drop off significantly and is now set to leave the club.

Ozil, despite loving life in the English capital, is frustrated with life at Arsenal and it is likely that new coach Mikel Arteta will not give the German star much of a chance having been given full autonomy to sell the club's players in January.

Arteta has been promised a transfer budget for new signings, but will also need to sell to free of funds to bring in new players.
