Sporting make fresh demands for Fernandes

Sporting Lisbon are understood to demand Andreas Pereira on a temporary basis, if they are to allow the permanent sale of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United this month.

Fernandes has been deemed to have agreed personal terms with the Red Devils but the club have yet to finalise a transfer fee with Sporting, who remain reluctant to sell their midfielder without a replacement.

According to A Bola, Sporting are willing to sanction the sale of Fernandes to United for around £64m, provided they are offered the services of Pereira on a short-term loan deal.

Pereira has been a regular with the Red Devils this term and he has made 24 appearances in all competitions. He has been earmarked by Sporting as a like-for-like replacement for Fernandes, given he is capable of playing in different midfield roles.

Fernandes, meanwhile, has amassed 13 goals and 10 assists from just 20 appearances this term. He is said to be keen on a Premier League move after missing out on the chance last summer.
