Manchester United are reportedly making the effort to renew the contract of Angel Gomes before the season comes to a close.

The club graduate has grown frustrated with the limited gametime under Solskjaer this term, having made just three starts in all competitions.

As a result, he has been fancied to leave the club on a free when his deal expires in the summer but United are still optimistic of renewing the contract of the 19-year-old.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are keen on committing the teenager to a new contract beyond the summer and they are prepared to treble his current £10,000-a-week wages.

Furthermore, they are prepared to assure him with regular first-team football next season and would be open to his temporary exit, should he struggle for playing time under Solskjaer.

Gomes is currently attracting interest from both Juventus and Barcelona and the next month or so, should give a clear indication whether he is prepared to end his contract standoff with United.
