Manchester United have reportedly set to sanction the loan move of Marcos Rojo to Estudiantes in the next few days.

The Argentine has made only three appearances in the Premier League this term and has not played for the club in any competition since the beginning of November.

During this period, Rojo returned to his homeland to overcome a minor hamstring concern and it appears that he could be heading back with former club Estudiantes.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils were initially keen on a permanent sale of the versatile defender but the lack of suitable offers has meant that they have accepted a short-term loan proposal from Estudiantes.

Rojo has 18 months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils and it is believed that the club have accepted to pay the majority of his £100,000-a-week wages during his time on loan.

Aside from Rojo, Jesse Lingard has also been linked with a possible departure to the Serie A and the next few days should provide a clear view over his future.
