Chelsea reach agreement for first summer signing?

Ziyech to join Chelsea

Chelsea are understood to have reached a verbal agreement with Ajax to sign Hakim Ziyech during the summer transfer window.

The Dutchman has been on the radar of several European sides over the past year but none of them have made the effort to land his signature.

According to De Telegraaf, the Blues have been in discussions with the Dutch champions over the past few weeks and they have eventually agreed on a £37m fee to secure his services.

Ziyech has yet to agree to personal terms with the west London giants but the deal is scheduled to go through and could be announced prior to the end of the campaign.

The Morocco international has contributed eight goals and 21 assists for Ajax in all competitions this season where he has played in the right wing and number 10 roles.

The move for the 27-year-old could end the Blues' pursuit of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dormund. They could, however, re-sign Jeremie Boga from Sassuolo with the buy-back option available.
