Solskjaer praises Eric Bailly's display vs Chelsea

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on defender Eric Bailly during the club's 2-0 Premier League win over Chelsea on Monday night.

The Ivorian made his first appearance of the campaign for the club after a long-term knee injury and he was solid in the back three alongside Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Bailly made three key blocks during the course of the game and one of those saw him intercept Mateo Kovacic, who seemed likely to find the net for the Blues in the second period.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer was appreciative of the display from the centre-back, who has suffered multiple knee and ankle injuries over his three-and-a-half seasons with United.

"Absolutely fantastic, Eric is a top defender. His block from [Mateo] Kovacic was out of this world, he is quick, strong, brave as a lion. It is great to have him back," Solskjaer told via Goal.com.

Bailly came into the defensive three due to an illness for Victor Lindelof. It remains to be seen whether he will retain his place for the midweek Europa League clash against Club Brugge.
