Solskjaer updates on Chong and Gomes

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the club are still in negotiations with Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes over contract renewals with the club.

The young duo have less than five months remaining on their respective deals with the Mancunian giants and reports have emerged that they are likely to pursue Bosman moves elsewhere.

However, speaking in a press conference, Solskjaer has refused to rule out the possibility of keeping the pair and indicated that the discussions are still ongoing with their representatives.

"Well we're still in talks with them. They're absolutely top-class boys and we're doing what we can to keep them because in a few years we can see them becoming very, very good players," he told Sky Sports.

Chong and Gomes have hardly featured in the Premier League this season and the same has been the case in the other competitions where they have started the rare game.

Chong has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan in the Serie A and reports have recently emerged that a pre-contract agreement has been delayed due to the agent fees.

Gomes, meanwhile, has been associated with a possible switch to Barcelona while Juventus are also deemed to be monitoring his situation. The duo have played a combined 585 minutes of first-team football this season.
