Wigan boss: we're not safe yet
Steve Bruce was understandably delighted at scoring an impressive 2-0 victory over relegation rivals Birmingham City on Saturday, but revealed he still thinks the Blues are not yet guaranteed Premiership survival.
"We can't say that we're safe until it's mathematically safe," he said.
"It's a step closer but we've got a nice easy one next week at Chelsea!
"The players were absolutely right up for the challenge and played some really good stuff on a difficult pitch, as you've seen.
"Last week, Ryan Taylor is in despair, misses a penalty, results have gone against us. This week, it all changes round for Ryan: scores two, plays really, really well.
"When you play against your old club, of course, you want to get the result.
"They would have been no different. They would have wanted to turn me over today big style."
