Arsenal to lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for just £31m?

Arsenal to sell Aubameyang on the cheap?

Arsenal have reportedly slashed the asking price for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid his reluctance to renew his contract with the club.

The Gabon international has less than 15 months remaining on his current deal with the Gunners and he will enter the final year of his contract when the season resumes after the suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners' board are looking at the possibility of sanctioning the forward's exit, particularly with the lack of progress in contract talks over the past year.

Earlier last month, reports indicated that the capital outfit could demand around £44m for Aubameyang's sale but it appears that they have reduced the price tag to just £31m.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in Aubameyang and it is suggested that the Gunners would prefer to sanction his departure to an overseas club rather than a direct league rival.

Aubameyang has netted 61 goals from 97 appearances for Arsenal.
