Ighalo updates on his United future

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has revealed that he has yet to receive a contract extension from Manchester United beyond the current campaign.

The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils on a short-term loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January and he has since contributed four goals from eight appearances.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously hinted that he would like to keep the marksman for next season but Ighalo has revealed that he has yet to receive any proposal regarding the same.

"There is no offer on the table yet because the season is still on and I'm yet to finish my loan deal. "I don't just take decisions alone in my life. I have a principle and I have a guideline for everything I do," he told Elegbete TV.

Ighalo is currently contracted to United until June but he is expected to stay beyond that period with the current season delayed due to the coronavirus shutdown.

United are looking at the possibility of signing a high-profile striker this summer but Ighalo may still earn a permanent deal with the club. He is valued at around £15m.
