Newcastle United to make club-record move for Gareth Bale?
Newcastle United are prepared to splash the cash to sign former Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.
The Magpies are currently on the cusp of a £300m takeover from PCP Capital Partners, who are backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
A lot of changes are anticipated at the Tyneside outfit during the summer and a report from FourFourTwo claims the Magpies could be prepared to break their transfer record to sign Bale.
Bale has been linked with an exit from the Bernabeu over the past few years and it appears that he could eventually head through the exit door for a fee of around £53m.
A number of clubs are wary of signing the Welshman due to his injury record but the Magpies seem prepared to make him their marquee signing of the new era.
Bale has more than two years remaining on his Los Blancos contract. He has bagged just three goals and two assists from 18 outings this season as he has struggled with different injury concerns.
