United end Cavani interest

Manchester United have cooled their interest in signing Edinson Cavani, a report from The Manchester Evening News reports.

The Red Devils have been regularly linked with the Uruguay international in recent years and they had looked to sign him earlier this year before they were put off by the demands.

According to M.E.N, United are unlikely to make a fresh move for Cavani this summer despite the fact that he could be available on a free transfer.

It is added that the club are prepared to focus on signing young and prime-agent players in the transfer window and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho remains their prime target.

Cavani's contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of next month and so far, there has been no indication that he could extend his stay with the French champions.

He has been linked with a Premier League move in recent years and reports have emerged that Newcastle United could make a shock approach to sign him once their takeover from PCP Capital Partners is complete.
