Chelsea are reportedly planning to trigger the buy-back option on the contract of former winger Jeremie Boga, who is currently with Sassuolo.

The Ivorian left the Blues to join the Serie A side permanently for £3.6m in 2018 but the club inserted the option to re-sign him for around £13m in the future.

According to L'Equipe, the west London side have been impressed with the progress made by their former graduate and they are seriously considering the option of buying him back.

Boga has bagged eight goals and two assists for Sassuolo this term and his form has caught the eye of elite European clubs including Barcelona, Sevilla, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma.

Sassuolo were in contact with the Blues in order to remove the buy-back clause earlier in the year but with the current financial climate, they are unlikely to command a significant fee through the player's sale.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing another winger ahead of next season and it appears that Boga could be offered a second spell at Stamford Bridge.
